  • After the war, Jack and Dorothy were re-acquainted and began a courtship and were married July 2, 1949.

  • Dorothy ran a restaurant in the service station, and at the same time looked after their very young children.

  • In November of 1965 the DeLorme family moved to Coquitlam, and in the fall of 1965 Dorothy began to work outside of the home at Sunset Lodge in Sapraton. She did kitchen work and cooked.

  • She would later cook at Como Lake Hospital and Grandview manor in Burnaby.

  • Dorothy retired in 1979 after many years of faithful service.

  • Jack and Dorothy enjoyed a number of years of retired life, looking after grand children, and taking a few trips to visit relatives in Alberta, until Jack contracted shingles in his legs, leaving him immobile for the rest of his life.

  • Dorothy lovingly took care of Jack for many years with a sacrificial love and never once complained.

  • She would sometimes go for weeks without leaving the house.

  • She is a remarkable woman.
